EIOPA expects that market providers will be able to reuse and support the solutions developed by the T4U project and is therefore planning to make the tool available through an open source model.. What is the XBRL Tool for Undertakings? The objective of EIOPA's Tool for Undertakings project is to provide insurance firms with a simple and basic software tool to create and validate XBRL instances from Solvency II harmonized quantitative reporting templates. The tool is oriented toward small and medium sized undertakings to create, edit, correct, complete and validate XBRL instance documents.
It is designed to help firms without XBRL knowledge to implement Solvency II harmonized quantitative reporting in XBRL. In particular, the T4U aims to assist undertakings that might suffer from a lack of resources to create XBRL in time for the first submission. The core functionalities of the T4U are. Provide a user friendly interface for displaying Solvency II templates,.

Maybe HFS+ or fat support but definitely not ext2 or ext3, infact you should all format your drives hooked up to the router as ext2, would give you a performance boost. Hmm, what about stripping out stuff like rflow (who uses it), sputnik, chilli? Best option of course would be for someone to rework the utilities for building the binaries to generate proper checksums for images 4mb. Edit: spelling mistake.4mb work. At least on my wl500gp and wrt350n i can use them.
Rflow is a good point, and you're right, ext2/3 is something that must stay in. This is what I get when I run 'ipkg install samba': Quote: /opt/bin # ipkg install samba Downloading.

Manual installation of each of those packages didn't work either.
So I figured - well, we mounted it as /opt so that we could install Optware, right? Trying to install Optware doesn't work, either, it throws up a bunch of errors saying ldconfig it can't link /opt/lib/MODULE.so to MODULE.so - I think it's treating the USB mount like a symlink - well, in any case, I can't install Optware either. So Rekoil I saw you offered advice on another forum that once I had mounted the drive to just run 'ipkg install samba', but have you ever got it working, and if so, how? Any leads on what I should do would be greatly appreciated.
I'm not a total Linux n00b, but the way these packages are being handled is a little out of my league. I soldered a femal-usb-jack to it, bridged the two gaps in the data line (the have a 0-Ohm resistor soldered in the other lane, so I thought bridging with wire should be the same) but nothing seems to happen. I can measure 5V between the two outer cables as it should be. But you cannot track the full length of the data-lanes because of the hf-shield-metal-plate on the downside. Like shown in the pics. (thought posting here would be a good idea because this is somewhat the usb-intensive topic.g.).

Okay, I have the WRT350N v1 and have put your latest build with USB support onto it. I also have a Venus T4U (AMS DS-2340UBK) external drive enclosure that supports connecting up to four IDE drives through one USB. And I do have 4 drives within. 80GB FAT32, 160GB FAT32 and 2 400GB EXT2.
When I saw this router I said sweet now I can have my storage brick on the network! But when I got it the Linksys firmware only let me see the first drive in the enclosure. So I decided to see if anyone made a custom firmware, and now I am here. Okay, the problem I'm having isn't that the router cannot see the drives, I just cannot mount any of them. No errors, they just aren't mounted.
Code: /dev/scsi/host0/bus0/target0 # ls lun0 lun1 lun2 lun3 /dev/scsi/host0/bus0/target0 # mount lun2/part1 /mnt /dev/scsi/host0/bus0/target0 # ls /mnt nothing. So am I just a n00b? This is my first time using dd-wrt and I am fairly new to the linux world. I am just wondering if anyone can give me some pointers. Let me know if you need any more info from my end, I'm not sure what the chipset is on the T4U, But don't think that is the problem since the drives are listed under the device.
Thanks in advance. Newegg has the simpletech 250 GB network thing 'Simpleshare' for $99 + shipping. It's certainly not as full featured as some of the suggestions here, but wow is it cheap and pretty highly rated (again, considering the cost). No RAID of course but it does have a USB port for expansion (not for data transfer via PC I believe). Like Cost - Cheaper than Linkstation - Same $ as NSLU but includes a drive Big enough ReplayRob likes his. Don't like but don't care Some hassles with the USB print server function - no AIO support according to one guy - initial hoops to jump to make it work - one dude said it ran hot but no one else chimed in on that Clunky interface?
Newegg says you can return for refund in w/in 30 days, so if it's a disaster you can escape with most of your money back. It's got a USB 2.0 interface but it is strictly for expansion, not for connecting really fast to a PC and also being a NAS thing. Too bad cause I think that would be really cool in a small appliance.
And, get this, it says it does do RAID, but I think it's 'RAID'. The way it work is you can add another drive to it via USB and then set up a mirrored or a striped pair. If you mirror, it schleps all your data onto the second drive (over 10 to 12 hours per the manual) and if you stripe, it destroys anything on both drives and sets up in 10-12 minutes, again per the manual. I don't plan on using either of these functions.

I don't plan on using either of these functions. It's worth repeating a 2 drive stripe doubles your chances of data loss. Mastiff34 I got it and hooked it up a week ago, and got the latest (linksys) firmware.
It lets me connect one ntfs formated usb drive. I hooked up a 200 gig ntfs drive to one usb port, and a 2 gig flash drive to the other. Works fine, however. Using DVA on a wireless laptop I tried moving a show from a replaytv to the slug.
At about 80% transfer windows displayed the 'file write delay error' message, and it failed. Not sure why that happened, but one has to keep in mind the data path was complicated: replaytv-router-wireless to laptop-wireless laptop back to router-router to slug. I tried slowing the DVA transfer rate to half the default rate. Took much longer, and I got the same message at about 80% again. Lastly I tried sending a short clip.
After that I tried watching it via dva on a replaytv. It seemed to work fine, including quickskips and manual jumps. Note, that this time the path was slug-router-replaytv I don't plan to flash it with linux firmware goodies unless a EZ walkthrough falls in my lap, or I really need the second usb port to handle ntfs too.
(already got my network goodies) It's been up for a week, no problems. I only have one mp3 on it and a short replaytv segment. It's in place for when I get around to using it. There is a small lag when I access the slug folder. The slug is prrty much exactly what I was expecting. Hope it stays like that.
Brand New NSLU2? Use The Linksys Interface If you wish to use Unslung to replace the factory firmware, then you can do so using the normal Linksys web interface. See the user manual that came with your NSLU2 for instructions on how to access this feature. The best way to flash using the web interface is to remove everything from the Disk1 and Disk2 ports, then reboot the NSLU2, then flash immediately after boot without attaching any disks or attempting to do anything else. As for your questions: p.s Yes you can support 2 ntfs drives, one on each port. P.s.s Absolutely, the unslug firmware is really just a modified linksys firmware. If you were to switch to open slug thats when you lose the backwards compatibility, but I think even that can be restored to the linksys firmware.
And finally, to be complete, here is a link to the official new users guide, I also highly recommend the how-to section. Sorry, last edit, I just wanted to say to, that I have not experienced any problems using dvarchive and my slug, but I have a full wired network, so your configuration might be the cause problem. Easy enough to test. Replay - router - dvarchive. I'm only interested in ntfs.
I have all kinds of data on old drives and they are all ntfs. I jumped the gun on my last post (nothing new).
I went back to the unslug site to remember my concerns. One is the bootstrap check. 198.168.0.1 didn't work so I changed the bat script to the ip of the slug, the first part seemed to work, but the telnet just opened and closed. Really, I'm just thinking should I bother. As long as I have the laptop and slug both wired to a router, the firmware flash should go just fine right? I don't want to put $30 worth of unneccessary time to be on the safe side on a $60 lil NAS.
The other concern is that the latest unslug version is beta. The site directs you to the beta and says all other versions are unsupported. It looks like theres lots of new stuff in the beta too (which might be a very bad thing at first). What version have you been running for months with no problem?
And circling back. So with unslug I can only use NTFS in one of the USB ports? I can do that now. My goal is merely to have two NTFS drives plugged in. Another thing, I assume I can't use a USB hub and plug multiple NTFS drives in to the first port with the stock firmware or unslug, correct? Thanks for being so conversational with me. Spontaneous giveaway Would you (mastiff34) or clay like to try a new safety razor and a few samples of high quality blades?
I bought some in bulk(got about 7 of them) as gifts but have since lost the nerve to offer them to local friends. If interested, any address is fine (e.g.
A friend's uncle you've never met), I don't need to know. Disclaimer: will be sent in informal box the old ignored offer still goes: any programmer that has written software for the ReplayTV can have one for the asking till 2 remain. I think the firmware flash will go fine, but I am lost when you speak about the bat script? Your not trying to use a bat script to update the firmware I hope, if you are then I reverse what I said about it will go fine =P. Ie use the web interface to update the firmware.

My goal is merely to have two NTFS drives plugged in. Another thing, I assume I can't use a USB hub and plug multiple NTFS drives in to the first port with the stock firmware or unslug, correct? I am not quite sure about this one, it might be a good question to post on the unslug forums, it may be if you put your usb hub on port 1 you can have multiple NTFS drives attached. FYI; Newegg has them for $129+$7 shipping. Hope that helps. Does anyone know if the t4u will work with a nslu2?
I have an older T4 and was considering getting the ns for the nas capabilities and possibly add another single enclosure i have. I'm just not sure if the specs mean it can handle two physical drives or 2 usb cables. Sorry to jump in so late in the thread.
I have been using a Slug (NSLU2) for my music server for over a year now. I have over 20,000 mp3's on a 250 GB Western Digital My Book Essential formatted with NTFS. I use the unSlung software version 6.8 beta and TwonkyVision UPnP media server 4.1 on a 1GB USB stick drive attached as Disk 2. I made the de-underclocking modification described on so my Slug is running at 266 MHZ instead of 133 MHZ. You might want to visit the TwonkyVision forum at to gain some insight from other users. My music appliances are Netgear MP101's and I have 3 of them in different rooms - each has full access to all of the music, but unfortunately, there is no way to really synchronize them (whole house music for parties, etc.). I have not tried the Slug with video yet but the forum should be able to shed some light on capabillities.
I installed (4) 750gb Seagates in my T4U and I can't detect ANY heat on the outside of the enclosure. I was concerned over whether something was really wrong, so remove the covers to feel the drives, no issues and they were all spinning. Bottom line is that either the Seagates run extremely cool or the stock fan/enclosure works that well.
I kept the enclosure in stock state, did not opt for the optional cooler. I bought another T4U and installed (4) 400gb Seagates, same result, ie, almost no detectible heat on the outside of the enclosure.
I even accidentally did the unthinkable, which is stack the 4x400 on top of the 4x750. Still no heat, so I left it that way. One issue that I have is that the presence of either of the T4Us causes my eMachine to hang about 5 seconds into reboot.
Venus T4u
My workaround is to turn both the T4us off, reboot, then turn them back on as soon as the hang point passes. I am guessing I could find the problem if I looked for it, but that effort hasn't floated to the top of my priority pile. I kept the configuration as individual drives, kindof chickened out on using the jbod.
My thinking was that if anything went wrong, I would lose data and would have little hope of finding a guru to help with jbod. Since I am using large drives, it has not been that big a problem.
Ams Venus T4u Manual
It does, however, look wierd seeing 12 drives on the My Computer screen! (4x750 external, 4x400 external, 4x400 internal) So, good results. I did notice about a month later that Frys had a tower that would hold 8 drives, but I did not spend any time researching. I would have rather had the 8 drives, but if 4 drives is enough, the T4U works great. No big regrets.
Hope that helps. Originally Posted by YBDBDOO I wish I could help, but it was just in their retail store. I go about once a week, so I will get the numbers next time I am there. Ok, I finally got down to Fry's and they had one of the 8 drive towers. It is their SKU# 5132156, $259.99.
